  1. GOOD!  I'm glad I passed it on ;-)

Now I'm winding down..or trying too.  Always so wired after a good long day of torture.  People ask me if I get tired with late sessions- hell no.  I get second wind EVERY night at 10pm.  And that's just the way it is.

ME TOO!!! 10pm is when my brain thinks I start my day. My brain becomes wired from 10pm-5am and a zombie during the normal day, unfortunately.

uh... dying........ the torture gummy bear scene at the end of dim sum girl is everything. reminds me of all of us mistresses in session together. one day we'll all do a needle scene i hope!

  3. Was there ever a person in your life that stole your breath, your mind, your heart, your soul?

What was the relationship like, how do you think he/she was able to accomplish this? Were there specific moves, games, he/she played? What was it about the person, about your connection with them, about how you felt around them? Why were they able to infiltrate you in such a way, do you think, in retrospect? What were they like?

    What was the aftermath?

Was it love, infatuation, lust or all 3?

  4.  Favorite topic- I love films!

I tend to love films with some strong social commentary and controversial viewpoint on a topic. It could be any topic- as long as it's culturally relevant and progressive.

For example I really loved some films with French actress Catherine Deneuve in the 60s. She starred in this CHILLING psychological film by Roman Polanski himself, called Repulsion, where an extremely paranoid woman is repulsed by men and sex but secretly entertains fantasies of being raped while she is left alone in her apartment.

She also played in another 60's movie Belle du Jour, where she plays a Parisian housewife who daydreams of all kinds of wild sexual trysts, and becomes a day time prostitute where she could explore her sexuality while her husband was away at work. I love a cinematic work that explores the complexity of people's needs and desires, especially a woman's sexual desires, as imagine in the 60s, this wasn't even something possible to discuss openly! Or that women were even seen as having sexual agency.

i love deneuve in the 60s- yes both are incredible. i have a feeling you must be into bergman as well? and akerman?

  5. Factoid:  Japanese art tends to favor asymmetry while Chinese art is all about the symmetry.

    so interesting. why is that?

is it related to the theory of beauty in both cultures- that japanese people prefer details of a person's features that make them more individualized- for example, a gap tooth, a crooked nose, they wouldn't be as likely to get fixed? and chinese culture is about practicing calligraphy forever and ever until it reaches the ideal, an image of perfection?

  6. I admire the mastery of bondage, such as demonstrated in the works of Suzuki Rage who hails from Japan. He creates meticulously crafted images of beautifully bound women. I love the asymmetric ties, how he accentuates their forms by framing parts of their bodies with geometric patterns of rope. One limb tied, a bared nipple framed, for example.

It's so visually rewarding to go through his galleries.

(Which you can find here: http://ropemagic.art.coocan.jp/

Which are your favorite bondage ties? Have any other bondage artists to share?

    HOTTTT

  7. Totino's Pizza. Top Ramen. Interracial porn. Wandering through Forever 21. Ebay. Candy Crush. Law and Order SVU. Dressing like a slob. Cheeseburgers with fries and mayo/ketchup. Really soft cheeses. Chili cheese fries. Frito Pies. Chili cheese hot dogs. Corndogs.

    SO GOOD

yes. yes. yes. I want it ALL

  8. I always love these 'Favorite' threads :]

When it comes to the usual physical suspects--the sexy bits, you might call them--my favorite's got to be the butt. The shape, the sway, the way it can look in either tight jeans, a skirt, a thong, or a flowy dress, it's all comprises this mind-blowing aesthetic that, to me, has no equal. I also love that for different women of different body types (within reason), there's tons of opportunity to look stunning, confident, and poised. Lastly, I find nothing quite as psychologically provocative as a submissive male's face pressed against a dominant woman's ass.

Speaking more generally, I find myself drawn to a woman's voice. Not to get too poetic about it, but there's an entire secret world in the spoken word: layers and layers of meaning and emotion tucked away in intonation, pitch, pause, and turn of phrase. The right voice is like a virus that gets inside my brain and just melts me from within, leaving me obsessed and wanting more.

mmm what's your favorite type of voice?

  9. The Holy Mountain:

I love Jodorowsky's epic masterpiece of his journey through symbols and their meanings, the alchemy of the human soul portrayed through moving images. Each time I watch this film, I pick up something new and incredibly profound, so I only watch it once every few years.

    Secretary:

This twisted love story is one I can relate to on so many levels, obviously, but is also much truer to bdsm form than anything else out there!

    Being John Malkovich:

Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze, need I say more? I love worlds that are slightly surreal, where just one strange anomaly turns into fun chaotic drama. Also, seeing Cameron Diaz looking so homely and desperate was a treat.

    love all!

  10. Couldn't resist not chiming in on this one. Love everyone else's selections. Like most I could never narrow it to one and the.few I mention are the ones that strike me right now:

1: The Wild Bunch----I love this movie for the realistic view of violence. I love the cinematography of the old west, the premise of aging gunman knowing their time is closing. I love the comradery and friendship they had for each other ,even though at times they almost killed each other (literally). A sick part of me envied the way they went out, screaming your last death cry behind a gatlin gun AHHHHHHH ....powerful scene.

    2. The Bad Lieutenant----Harvey Keitel's depiction of a man inflicted with so many demons was fascinating and in many ways, hit home. Don't get me wrong, I was/am no where near as fucked up as he is in.this movie but I know some places he's been. The story is also about redemption. Very entertaining.

    3. Taxi Driver----- The seventies in NYC. The city itself made this movie great for me. The madness of the 70s, loneliness, insanity ....what more can I say???

    4. The Hustler------like Dannyboy this is one.of my all-time favorites. This movie captured the gambling sub-culture quite well. I grew up around bookies and gamblers so I know the.mindset. The highs of winning and how some people set themselves up to lose. Piper Laurie's character reminded me a lot of an ex girlfriend. She had the same sadness and sweetness and when I see the.movie I think.of her. Plus Newman and Gleason, great acting!

    nice to have you back!

A good mixture of films- TAXI DRIVER!

  11. My absolute favorite is Ingmar Bergman's Persona. The night after the first time I watched it I had the only nightmare I've had since I was nine years old! (To me, that's a reason to love it.) Bergman pushes his audience to interrogate notions of personality and identity, and the bonds and boundaries that can form between people and re-form who those people are and how they experience themselves and the worlds around them. Most interestingly, he simultaneously pushes the audience to consider the nature of film itself, and thus to re-consider what might actually be arbitrary distinctions between things that are "artificial" or "constructed," like a film, and things that are "real" or "whole," like a self or soul.

I also love just about any Yasujiro Ozu film I've seen (especially from the latter half of his career) about as much as I love Persona. Even though they're very different, I love them both for somewhat similar reasons. Ozu's films, like Bergman's, are always formally interesting. He crafts shots with more care than any other director I know, and never lets a shot go to waste. He will compose a simple expositional shot of two characters walking from one location to another in such a way as to comment on their relationship, or the way that humans engage in the structures they create, or the curious parallels between human spaces and natural spaces, or the role of time in human life. His characters are archetypes and yet fiercely unique in their motivations, dreams, and anxieties, and so his films always show us, like Persona but in a very, very different way, the ways that we, too, are distinct and yet, at the same time, culturally-determined types. He depicts relationships with sensitivity and deep insight, so his films are always captivating.

    LOVE PERSONA

need to better acquaint myself with ozu. loved your answers
