What is the appeal for different types of shoes? I understand they make me look really hot, but there has to be something else.

The way it feels while you’re being stepped on? What kind of shoe feels the best for that?

Personally, that feeling of a bare, sweaty foot pushing me down is the best, so I like sandals because they are closest to a bare foot. 
 

Beyond that, anything leather or vinyl is hot just because the feel is so smooth and taut and reminiscent of bondage.

My Dear Goddess Veronica,

I feel like this post is directed to me personally, being that we just had an awesome session yesterday where I insisted on open-toe heels with fish-net stockings.  That combination with you purple painted toes, your shapely feet, your outstanding legs, make for an intoxicating combination.

I think submissives who have a thing for feet and heels are going to be all over the place on this topic.

I for one love sexy heels, especially shoes showing off pretty feet.  They do make the legs look more toned, longer, and attractive.  For me high heels are like "mini pedestals" for the goddess/mistress.  It seems to me easier for a woman to be dominant wearing heels than if she is barefoot, wearing flip-flops, or some other flats.  While she may be in fact very dominant, a woman wearing flip-flops or going barefoot does not at first glance LOOK dominant.
