Mistress Lane Posted Sunday at 03:34 PM Report Posted Sunday at 03:34 PM My birthday is coming up on August 4, and I'll be celebrating in NYC! If you had one day to celebrate in NYC what would you do? I'd love recommendations for restaurants, rooftop bars, museums, spas, hidden gems, or any fun activities around the city. 🎂 Quote
theDumbMule Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Report Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Not being from NYC, I don’t have any recommendations. But I did want to drop in a wish you a happy birthday. Happy Birthday Mistress Lane!!! 🎁🎁🎁🎂🎂🧁🧁🎉🎉🎉 Quote

Restaurants (2 options per type/experience) - if you are specifically looking for a certain type of vibe and experience I can tailor that too: 1. Japanese Omakase: Shin Takumi, Domo Omakase 2. Italian: L’Artusi , Olio e Piu (location in the Village) 3. Steak: Palladino’s Steak (highly recommend getting a seat overlooking Grand Central’s famous promenade), Keen’s (go for their legendary Mutton Chop…) 4. Asian Fushion (note: this excludes all the good stuff already in Chinatown): Tao (Downtown location… still retains its good Fushion cooking despite all the fame its garnered over the years) , Momofuku Noodle Bar Rooftop Bars: reso’s recommended (and at times required) 1. 230 Fifth Rooftop: tried and true. Large also 2. Refinery Rooftop: Garment district… more of a old NYC industrial era vjbe 3. Highwater Rooftop: more of a modern vibe 4. Vintage Green: chic yet casual Museums (excludes timeless ones like Museum of Natural History, the Met, and Guggenheim, etc.): a wide range is listed below 1. Museum of Sex 2. Museum of Ice Cream 3. Whitney Museum of American Art 4. The Morgan Library 5. Tenement Museum Hidden gem to try: Apotheke Chinatown… very easy to miss even if you’re locally around. One of the best speakeasies I’ve been to as a NYer Quote

You’re very welcome Mistress. If you like steak, you will not be disappointed with either. Keen’s is a slice of NYC history with the clay smoking pipes adorning its walls that once belonged to the likes ofTeddy Roosevelt and Einstein (there is no smoking there now of course). Palladino’s lets you appreciate the hustle and flow of true NYers who come and go through one of the city’s most iconic locations. And of course… Ice cream is simply timeless 😀 My birthday is August 12… Leo is my sign through and through, and holds a place both in my heart and the art on my back Quote
