My experience tells me that it not only takes skill but also a determination and will of the Mistress. For me, it is a very intimate exchange, especially if i can look in to the eyes of the Mistress who is administering the slap. MTran MTran, I couldn't agree more regarding a slap in the face immediately grabbing ones attention, especially when unexpected. Also as you mentioned, a definite way for a Mistress to show control while at the same time, putting a sub in their place. That would clearly grab my attention, however I am sure that I would not embrace being slapped in the face over and over again in succession with extremely hard discipline hits, although then again, who am I to decide what I wouldn't like, especially if the mere sound of this act makes you instantly happy. It is easy to forget that a hard face slap, or multiple repeated ones, can leave a mark just the same as any other impact play and, as you pointed out, a mark on the face is much more noticeable to everyone (not just a spouse). One also has to watch out for rings on the fingers too- I don't wear much jewelry in session but sometimes I do wear a ring and I have to either take it off or remember to use my other hand, if I plan on/need to slap a naughty face.
