I though I would unwind one evening this weekend with a museum night at the MET.

But yet I could not escape the images of BDSM and Female Supremacy.   After picking up their seasonal program, I saw the add for the exhibition below.

Seeing that I had some personal interests analogous  to the great philosopher Aristotle, I looked up the story of "Aristotle and Phyllis":

"The story of Aristotle and Phyllis is a popular medieval cautionary tale about lust and female power, featuring the philosopher Aristotle, tutor to Alexander the Great, being seduced by Phyllis (Alexander's mistress) and made to act like a horse for her amusement, proving that even the wisest man can fall victim to desire, a theme depicted widely in medieval art like tapestries and sculptures."

Sound Familiar?

But thanks for sharing! I’m actually just remembering how much kinky artwork I’ve seen in galleries & museums in the past few years (though I admittedly sought that out). Maybe I’ll start a thread of my own, there’s too much to share & I think you’ll all like it.

And of course Catholic-y art at places like the Met is often fabulously kinky.
