Crap! I forgot my favorite. How "Duh" of me. Band of Brothers By Stephen E. Ambrose - The series got so much of the book right and then some though they had to take some liberties and change some characterization around. This holds a special place in my heart for two important reasons. One - I was a paratrooper, combat infantry and this is about some of the first US combat infantry paratroopers. Two - My grandfather fought at D-Day (Depicted in episode two entitled "Day of Days") and I'm very proud of that fact.

Hey The Spermwhale, That's a great book! Have you read The Electric Cooled Acid Test by Tom Wolf? It's awesome. I loved learning abut Ken Kesey's history with the LSD movement and the "Merry Band of Pranksters."

If I could I'd punch 2018 in the face! 1) Wise Guy - By Nicholas Pileggi - Goodfellas - My sister and I used to watch that movie all the time. And my old boss grew up around all the real people from the book. He would tell me horror stories about them. In 2015 it was revealed that John Gotti actually killed Tommy DiSimone (Joe Pesci's character in the movie) in the book The Lufthansa Heist. 2) Fight Club - By Chuck Palahniuk - Movie was great and another I've scene many times 3) No Country For Old Men - By Cormac McCarthy - The book reads like a treatment for a movie and the film is an almost spot on adaptation.

Hi TDM, I went to the Marvel screening on Wednesday night and loved it. It was so much fun! I honestly enjoyed every minute of it and felt like 4 year old Jayman when I left the theater. Thanos was the best Marvel villain and when you think about it he's really the star of the movie. I don't know how I feel about how kids are going to react to the ending. A little girl sitting in front of me started crying when she saw the final scene between Iron Man and Spiderman.

Hey Dannyboy, The swimming can be frightening. When I was in Ranger School we had to go through water survival training. We would have to be in full battle rattle, boots, load baring equipment and weapon. They would then throw us in the water. We would have to swim across the entire length of the pool holding our weapon up out of the water. There were guys that had never swam in their lives and you could see the look of horror on their faces before being thrown in. Most of them would just flail around like a maniac and some just sank and had to pulled out. Jay

I usually have no Idea what to expect. Honestly I expect the unexpected and the fear and panic that sets in is a rush. Especially when the scene starts to get physical.

This reminds me of one of my Drill Sargents in basic training. He used to fuck with us by asking us questions that had no correct answers. Like one time he was “Smoking” me, asking me “what kind of accent is that you have privet? This continued on for a couple of hours with questions becoming even more obscure and the “Smoking” more intense until I puked from exhaustion.
