I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a link between those interested in BDSM and those who experience a stimulus in one sense automatically triggering a perception in another.

This angle is genuinely underexplored in my research so far!

A huge part of my fascination with impact play is that I experience textures and colors associated with sounds. I also ‘have’ emotions through haptics and proprioception. This means that very subtle acts of dominance can be a sadistic feast.

I’ve noticed that some subs tend to be more disconnected than average from their internal experience. Perhaps that’s a factor that drives the urge for intense stimuli. I’ve also seen others who are exquisitely sensitive, to the point of being able to enter something like a dreamworld during play. It’s distinct from what I’d typically recognize as subspace, but is facilitated by it.

Whether you’re drawn to giving or receiving sensation- do you notice anything unusual about how you experience it?

Wait what?? Did everyone else know this about you?? So cool… Can you give us a little tease of something you associate with a sound??

Mistress .. Perhaps this is one.

When I read Mistress Lovely's latest post I instantly thought of this comment on one of Her photos...

At the time I was convinced it should have been a "Thwack" sound but wasn't sure if She was describing the 'swish' of the cane through the air or the actual impact.

I knew enough NOT to raise the question.

I agree! impact, touch, rhythm, and sound don’t feel purely physical, they come across as layered experiences. That’s probably why something like impact play can feel richer, more complex, even aesthetic rather than just intense.

I also feel like subs come to it for very different reasons. Some do it to please the dommes, some genuinely enjoy the sensation, and some might not even like the pain itself but use it as a way to feel present or alive.

Mistress.. FemDom witchcraft was at work last night..

At around 5am I woke up and began writing some D/s thoughts in my journal...

Wondering if pain could be your sustenance.

Then I saw this post.. perhaps i will post that entry?

Mistress..

When next we meet, perhaps you will share with me your pain ritual?  .. Can it even be explained through words alone?

Might there be a tangible, spiritual connection between the Goddess and Her slave during the gifting of pain?

I have this vision in my mind of a transference or transmission of a current of devotional energy that a sub can feed his Mistress when She enters Her Goddess state..  They are both aglow like lanterns in a stormy night .. as Her strikes land with precision the sparks grow brighter as the wattage increases...

My overheated flesh surging through your bare hand or your cane as you consume me.

Groundbreaking phenomenological hypothesis. We simply must investigate.

@Mistress Matira I can tell you what color his yelps are.

Hmm, interesting.  I do not experience synesthesia.  Impact play, for me, certainly has a layered sensory effect, which is why different implements have such different effects.  There's the pain itself, and there's the feeling of impact and those don't always align, depending on the level of force and the tool.  But I guess, for me personally, it's the D/S aspect that's more important.

A mentor, very into knife sharpening, once told me about blades that could take your finger off without you feeling a thing.

I think about that a lot.

It is very brief and seldom but in its peak form I sense (not see) a prism of red, blue and purple hues. It’s preceded by a feeling of tranquility. Not to say I don’t feel every contact, but it is an accompaniment to a level of prismatically colored peace that is unmatched. It’s made only more precious by how rare I’ve gotten there.

The practice of that idea, even proximity to it, even by accident, looks dangerous.

I agree and find this observation interesting. May I ask the Fortress Ladies if they have different reactions to the sounds from their subs - cries, screams, whimpers, chocking, begging, etc.

Depends entirely on who you are, curious quester.

A whimper from a stoic man and a whimper from a needy one are very different things.

That speaks volumes..

Now when a sub is saying "Yes Mistress Lovely" he's thinking "YES..! YES..! YES...!  Mistress Lovely  PLEASE YES..!"
